All White Bathroom Renovation

Posting photos of our all white bathroom renovation. The before photos are too yucky to post! Needless to say we are very happy with the results.

We left the existing tall built-in shelf with some updating: painting the unit, re-lining the shelf bottoms, and getting new baskets and towels. We installed a new vanity and top, and toilet. We left the existing shower/bath, and put in new floor tiles.

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas! From our home to yours.

Picture perfect!

These Christmas morning smiles are the greatest gift of all.

For our train-loving toddler, a Polar Express electric train set. Happy boy!

This little one is perfectly content just watching her big brother open gifts. Such a doll.

Sharing a Master Bedroom with Baby

Sharing your room with baby is no big deal, and I am going to simplify it for you here. Just by adding a few necessities, your room for two becomes a room for three!

This HALO® Bassinest® Swivel Sleeper goes right up to the bed and you can bring the baby toward you when needed throughout the night. I haven’t used it yet (waiting for baby to arrive!) but excited to see how well it works.

Your nightstand will end up being cluttered with late night essentials, like diapers, wipes, snacks for mom, and even a burp cloth and change of pjs for baby. You never know what will arise in the middle of the night! Keep it all organized in a cute basket. I also love this mini touch lamp I found that has three brightness settings. This way, I can just give it a quick touch for a dim light, rather than rummaging through my basket in the dark.

For comfort during late night feedings, you will want to arm your bed with pillows for propping. I like to have some standard throw pillows, a “husband” style pillow for sitting up, and a Boppy pillow for breastfeeding support. I got this adorable Emily & Meritt “Love” Slipcover at Pottery Barn Kids.

Also for feedings, or just for cuddling, it’s nice to add a place for seating or a rocking chair. Having a comfy throw blanket and a lumbar support pillow is a good idea as well.

For the much anticipated “tummy time”, having a cozy, fresh clean rug and a little toy chest will be in handy.

I turned my vanity into a changing table, by just adding a changing pad and a cute basket for diapers and wipes. I also included a laundry basket below for the many changes of clothes that are in a newborn baby’s daily schedule.

You can never have too much Butt Paste! It is the best cure for diaper rash.

The hardest part about sharing a room for me was making some room in the dresser for the new baby’s wardrobe. However, it gave me a good reason to go through all of my clothes and donate what I have not worn in a while. Luckily newborn baby clothes are small so they don’t take up too much room. I also bought under bed storage bins to store her 6-12 month and up clothes.

The Most Beautiful Gift

My son picked this beautiful flower for me in my mom’s backyard, so I just had to share the joy of this moment! Seeing the proud look and huge smile on his face when he ran over to hand it over to me… made my heart sing.

The Search for a New Sectional Sofa

While I love our old couch, it is time to update from 10 years of love and spills. I am looking for another sectional. We love the chaise on the couch, as it is comfortable, but wondering if we should go bigger, with the family growing, and it looks like there is space for it in the room. I’ve been shopping around and here are my top picks so far. What do you think?

Spray Rose and Hydrangea

I saw these spray roses at the grocery store and couldn’t resist! They have a light pink ombre appearance, fading into white on the edges – just gorgeous! Paired with a lime green hydrangea made for a stunning arrangement, it looked very bridal!

Spring Blossoms

Still being inspired by the unseasonably warm weather, I couldn’t resist bringing some more blooms into the house. I love the bright purples and pinks in this arrangement.

Hyacinth Blooms

Spring has sprung in February! We are having unseasonably beautiful warm weather here in New Jersey. We are getting 60° and 70° weather this month, and as a girl who loves the summer and outdoors, I am sure enjoying the change! Being influenced by the climate, I couldn’t resist purchasing some spring-inspired florals, especially this wonderfully smelling hyacinth. The brilliant purple and fragrant blooms remind me of those early stages of spring that bring promises of hope and joy for sunny days ahead.
